Essar Oil UK’s Stanlow Refinery is one of the largest in the UK and we look to nurture the brightest and most ambitious talent across all areas of our business.

Like any company, we’re only as good as our people. To be the best, we need to work with the best.

We are committed to developing our people. A commitment that begins by giving everyone, from work experience students, to paid interns, apprentices to graduates, opportunities to fulfil their potential within a stimulating professional environment. We are seeking exceptional candidates for trainee roles across our specialist teams.

All of our programs are comprehensive and include fully supported training to enhance both professional and personal development.

An apprenticeship with Essar offers a gateway to your career and the ideal route to numerous operational, maintenance, engineering and commercial roles within our company.

We offer a range of apprenticeships in different roles from Level 3 up to Level 6 degree apprenticeships.

Our eight week paid internships offer the chance to do real work on actual refinery projects. From day one you will be working alongside experienced professionals on genuine engineering tasks supported and encouraged every step of the way.

If you are an MEng chemical, mechanical or electrical/instrumentation engineering student in the penultimate year of your degree, we offer internships in Engineering and Commercial areas. This specially designed programme provides a first-hand opportunity to work on actual projects with clear goals and defined deliverables.

An internship with Essar is great for your skill set and your career, and could lead to an offer of a graduate role on completion of your degree.

We are clear in our ambition to attract the best graduate talent.

Our graduate roles provide the opportunity to gain hands on experience of the oil industry. You will undertake rotations in roles and experience different departments within the business. The roles we offer allow knowledge and skills obtained from university to be transferred into the workplace environment.

The work is both challenging and interesting and is conducted in an environment where customer demands need to be met. This makes the work very rewarding when goals are achieved.

All our graduate programmes offer a comprehensive and carefully structured professional development scheme.

If you are an undergraduate in your final year of any business, economics, engineering or similar degree, a range of projects are available to hone your data analysis and commercial skills.
