Would you like to be celebrated as the 100,000th finisher of the Essar Chester Half Marathon? The organisers of this multi award-winning race are offering this fantastic opportunity for runners participating in the event to be held on Sunday 21 May 2023.
Essar has been the title sponsor of the Chester Half Marathon since 2016 and recently signed a renewal agreement to take the title sponsorship through to 2027. To celebrate, Essar is offering the 100,000th runner a donation of £1,000 for the charity of their choice!
“As organisers of the Chester Marathon, we were honoured to be given the opportunity a decade ago to take over the running of the Chester Half Marathon. Thus in 2012, we took the baton and since then tens of thousands of runners have crossed the finish line with many people returning year after year to enjoy the experience this event offers” explains Joint Race Organiser, Chris Hulse of Active Leisure Events.
A recent tally of the results from 1982 to 2022 revealed that the number of runners who had participated in the event was approaching a significant milestone.
Chris continued: “When we started organising the race, we never imagined it would touch so many people. When we mentioned this to our lead sponsor Essar we came up with the idea of awarding the 100,000th finisher with a £1,000 donation to the charity of their choice.”
Chris and his team are confident that the 100,000th finisher will come over the line in this year’s event and urge people to enter the race as soon as possible to avoid disappointment as the race fills.
