What Personal Data do we hold and why?
We collect and store information about you to respond to enquiries and manage your account. The reward card programme is managed and maintained by Essar Oil UK Limited and supported by your forecourt trader. We will use this information for the management of your account and to inform you of products and promotions. Who do we share your data with?
We share data with the forecourt owner as they have a legitimate interest in knowing who their customers are, and to ensure that your reward points are assigned to your account. We do not share your data with anyone else. We have implemented technology and policies with the objective of protecting your privacy from unauthorised access and improper use and will update these measures as new technology becomes available, as appropriate.
How long do we hold the personal data for?
We will retain your personal information for as long as we have a relationship with you. When deciding how long to keep your personal information after our relationship has ended, we take into consideration our legal obligations and regulators expectations. We may also retain records to investigate or defend potential legal claims. In the event of an account becoming idle and unused the data related to that account will be deleted. This will be two years from the date of the last transaction recorded on the reward card.
How do we protect your data?
Essar take data protection, Information Security and Cyber Security seriously. We ensure our security practices are aligned to Industry best practice, legislative requirements and the Network and Information Systems Directive which is a set of principles for the securing of essential services. The Essar Information and Cyber Security policies and privacy notices are reviewed to ensure that our policies, procedures and practices reflect the best practices available and available technology. Further all systems that handle personally identifiable information are reviewed in-line with their privacy notices as a minimum, annually.
How can I access my personal data?
You have rights regarding your personal information, including the right in certain circumstances to access, correct or delete your personal information or to restrict or object to our use of it.
